Coal Harbour sounds like an inlet off the coast of South Africa, its not, it’s the neighbourhood that borders downtown Vancouver and the Peninsula of Stanley Park. Coal Harbour area had its makeover in the 1990’s now home to many upscale highrise condominiums and 5 star hotels. Coal Harbour’s and Vancouver Convention centre was the Main Media Centre and official host for thousands of Olympic broadcasters during the 2010 Olympic Games. The Olympic Cauldron, lit during the Winter games now is a permanent fixture of Jack Poole Plaza next to Earls, Coal Harbour. The seawall bike path does extend into Stanley Park and throughout Coal Harbour nearing the end of your journey through this beautiful area, stop and enjoy a coffee at the many restaurants that overlook Stanley Park and watch the Sea Planes land right in front of you!
